On Gålö, you’ll find one of the most beautiful hikes in the Stockholm archipelago. From Skälåker to Morarna, the trail offers magnificent views over the archipelago. The hiking path is characterized by significant elevation changes, steep cliffs, some stairs, and beautiful rocky beaches. On the narrow Havtornsudd peninsula, you can spot the Gålö lighthouse in the distance. The second part of the hike, from Morarna to Sälstationen, opens up new views over Långarnfjärden and the southern archipelago. You walk along the shoreline and along the ridge, surrounded by moss, lichen, and blueberry shrubs in typical pine forest.
Take the bus from the city; we meet in Skälåker or Morarna. We take care of your luggage, which is transported to Sälstationen by bike and trailer. You will receive a map and a briefing about the day’s hike.
After a wonderful day in nature, you arrive at Sälstationen, an oasis in the archipelago. Your luggage will be waiting for you in your glamping tent or cabin. We will show you around, and you can discover an exciting history – about seals that were trained here in the 1940s. The sauna is warm, and you prepare a delicious vegetarian dinner from your pre-ordered food basket before falling asleep surrounded by nature!
Two options:
– we meet in Skälåker, the hike is approximately 12 km / 5–6 hours
– we meet in Morarna, the hike is approximately 5 km / 2–3 hours
Price:
- Luggage transfer, map, briefing: 260 SEK per group.
- Accommodation and meals in “all inclusive”. 1 night in a cabin, the history of Sälstationen, dinner and breakfast baskets, bed linen, towel, and cleaning.
- Add-on: your lunch during the hike: Outdoor cooking backpack to prepare a meal on a camping stove in nature: 195 SEK, children 3–12 years: 112 SEK
- Alternative accommodation: Glamping tent from June, self-catering all days.
